Norma Jean Oberg, age 83, Dilworth, MN, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN.
Norma Jean Fischer, the daughter of George and Helen (Barclay) Fischer was born July 29, 1927, in Moorhead. She grew up and received her education in Georgetown, MN.
On April 10, 1947, Norma Jean married James L. Oberg. Following their marriage they lived in Dilworth, MN, and in Arizona. They returned to the Dilworth area in the late 1980's. Both Jean and James had become residents of Golden Living Center, Moorhead. James died there on Feb. 20, 2011.
Norma Jean was a long-time member of the Georgetown Mother and Daughters Club, and was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling. Jean worked at Quality Bakery, was self-employed in her own ceramics business, and worked at Fargo Rubber Stamp.
Norma Jean is survived by: her son, Michael, Moorhead; two sisters, Marjorie Kukowski, Georgetown, MN, and Susan Ohnstad, Argusville, ND; two brothers, James (Eleanor) Fischer, Perham, MN, and Roger (Linda) Fischer, Harwood, ND; a granddaughter, Michelle; four great granddaughters; and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, James, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Jr.; and a sister, Kathleen.
Visitation: Sunday, 5 PM to 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Prayer service: Sunday, 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral service: Monday, August 1, 2011, at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth, MN.
