Ole Kjonaas, 84, Moorhead, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, in Sanford Health, Fargo.
Ole Dean Kjonaas, the son of Date and Regina (Ackland) Kjonaas, was born in Park Rapids, MN, on January 26, 1927. He grew up and received his education in Georgetown, MN. During World War II, Ole served in the US Army.
On November 10, 1948, Ole married Cleo Mosbeck, in Thief River Falls, MN. They lived in Georgetown and later in Moorhead. Ole worked for many years for Matson Oil, Moorhead. Ole was a fast-pitch softball player for many years, and enjoyed "karaoke" singing. He enjoyed playing cards, and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and the Green Bay Packers.
Ole is survived by his daughter, Tammy Charbonneau, Fargo; his son, Richard (Karen) Kjonaas, Casselton, ND; brothers, Ray Kjonaas, Moorhead, and Dayton (Josephine) Kjonaas, St. Paul, MN; sister, Marilyn (Larry) DeWalt, Allentown, PA; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo, who died in 1986; two daughters, Nancy and Patricia; his parents; and by a sister, Melvina Wenzel.
Visitation: Wednesday, 5 PM to 8 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead
