Olena E. Gooding

Olena Ellen Gooding, 61, passed away August 17th in Sanford Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, after a courageous battle with cancer. Olena was born to William "Don" and Elsie Johnson of Groton, SD, where she graduated from high school. Olena also lived in Fairfax, VA, Pierre and Mitchell, SD and most recently Moorhead, MN.
Olena will be remembered by friends and family for her love of the outdoors, famous lefse, quick wit, flair for adventure and years spent as a loving mother and homemaker.
Grateful for having shared her life are her siblings, Mary Lou Erickson, Danny Johnson, Allen Johnson, Marty Johnson, Eunice Wagner and Bill Johnson; daughters, Rebecca Fee, Anita Gooding and Charlene Fiegen; and grandchildren, Nathan Anderson, Karly Anderson and Trigg Fiegen.
A service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 21st at the United Methodist Church in Groton with internment and fellowship following. The family welcomes all who knew Olena to share this celebration of her life.
