Olga M. Keckhafer, 94, Fergus Falls, MN, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in the Minnesota Veterans Home of Fergus Falls.
Olga Mary Hameister, daughter of Gustave and Esther (Krause) Hameister, was born June 11, 1913, in Byron, MN. She grew up and received her education in the Byron area. On Feb. 25, 1932, she was married to Edwin Keckhafer, in Rochester, MN, where they made their home. They also lived in Potsdam, MN, before retiring in 1968, when they moved to northern Minnesota. In January of 1999, both Olga and Edwin became residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home of Fergus Falls.
She is survived by seven daughters, Genevieve Streiff, Detroit Lakes, MN, Mary Keckhafer, Fargo, ND, Darlene Van Schaick, Plainview, MN, Donna (Dean) Miller, Albert Lea, MN, Joan (George) Russell, Cresco, IA, Janice Hutchins, New Market, Maryland, and Patricia (James) Barker, Sauk Rapids, MN; a son, Kenneth, Twin Lakes, MN; 30 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren.
Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, who died July 27, 2000; a daughter, Louise; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna; and two brothers, Rudy and Carl.
Visitation: Tuesday, 5 PM until 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and one hour prior to the funeral.
