Orby H. Hochstetler

Orby H. Hochstetler, age 77, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, in MeritCare Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.
Orby was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Bone Lake, Wisconsin, the son of Homer and Ida Hochstetler. He grew up and attended school in Wisconsin. He also attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN.
Orby served his country in the US Army, from 1952 to 1954. Orby was married to Vera Heldt in Moorhead on Dec. 23, 1952. After his discharge, they lived in the Moorhead area. Orby worked for Mid-American Steel for 30 years. He retired in 1992.
His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life. He is survived by his wife, Vera, Moorhead; three sons, Dale (Lyn), Lead, SD, Dean (Carri), Buffalo, MN, and Duane (Laurie), also Buffalo; daughter, Dawn (Brad) Nelson, Glyndon, MN; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Carlos) Hernandez, Tim Hochstetler, Kelli and Kalynn Nelson, Rachel and Dustin Hochstetler, and Amy Hochstetler; two great-grandchildren, Steven and Caleb Hernandez; a brother, Leo (Dee); and three sisters, Marlene Stevenson, Lois Reed, and Twylah (David) Squire.
Memorial service: Monday, December 3, 2007, at 11 AM, in Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon, MN.
