Orville K. Holsen

Orville Kenneth Holsen, age 91, died Monday, December 2, 2013, in his home in Moorhead, MN, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Orville, the son of Thomas and Albina (Opland) Holsen, was born June 7, 1922, in Moorhead, where he grew up, and graduated from high school. During WW II, he served his country in the US Navy.

On January 1, 1947, Orville married Ellie Eidsvold, in Fargo, ND. They made their home in Moorhead. Orville worked as an electrician for Reger Electric, until he retired in 1984. Orville enjoyed bowling and horseshoes. He loved watching his children's and grandchildren's sports activities, and he enjoyed taking a good walk.

Orville is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ellie; daughters, Karen Lindsey, Brenda (Bill) Windt, Kristi Saathoff, Randi (Jerry) Riddle, and Konni (Joe) Bergseid; a son, Larry (Terri) Holsen; a brother, Marty (Margaret) Holsen; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ingolv and Christian; and sisters, Inga Moore and Alma Molldrem.

Visitation: Sunday, 3 PM to 5 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral: Monday, December 9, 2013, at 2 PM, Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
