Palmer "Pete" Johnson, 67, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, in his home in Show Low, AZ, having lost his fight against cancer.
Pete, the son of Elmer and Lillian (Gunderson) Johnson was born February 11, 1944, in Hawley, MN. He grew up and received his education in the Hitterdal, MN, area, where he graduated from high school in 1962.
Pete married Janna Erickson. They lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area, where Pete worked for Twin Cities Construction and was a professional upholsterer.
On July 21, 1990, Pete married June Hegg. They lived in Moorhead, on a farm near Hawley, and for the last five or six years in Arizona.
Pete enjoyed being outside. He was a self-employed remodeling contractor. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, ATV riding and being with family and friends.
Pete is survived by his wife, June, Show Low, AZ; sons, Paul (Jenise) Johnson, Minneapolis, MN, Eric (Connie) Johnson, Fargo, and Chance (April) Geray, Navarre, FL; two brothers, Roger (Barb) Johnson, Fargo, and Gary (Sheila) Johnson, Duluth, MN; and three grandchildren, Pierce Johnson and Lynsey and Brandon Geray.
Visitation: Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Memorial Service: Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 2 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Burial: Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
