Patricia Anne Butler

Patricia Anne Butler, 91, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Sanford Health, Fargo.

Patricia Anne Lindblom, the daughter of Carl and Ida (Offerdahl) Lindblom, was born near Kulm, ND, on March 17, 1924. She grew up in rural Kulm and graduated from Edgeley (ND) High School.

Patricia graduated from Northwestern College, in St. Paul, MN, and became a registered nurse. She briefly served as a Navy nursing cadet in New York City, and moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as a nurse in Los Angeles.

In California, Patricia met the love of her life, Robert George Butler. They were united in marriage on Feb. 26, 1949. They lived in Blacksburg, VA, and Berkeley, CA, while Robert attended graduate schools. In 1954, they made their home in Fargo, where Patricia worked as a nurse, first in several hospitals, and later as a nurse practitioner for the City of Fargo Public Health Department. She was active in the Fargo nursing community, where she served as a board representative for Gate City Nurses Association.

Robert died in May of 1970. Following his death she continued to live and raise her family in Fargo. She retired from the Fargo Public Health Department in 1994.

Patricia is survived by her children, Christine (Richard Harkins) Butler, Lees Summit, MO, Richard (Melissa Mager) Butler, Seattle, WA, Robert Butler, Fargo and Margaret (Michael) Footitt, Fargo; five grandchildren, Steven Harkins, Sandra (Ben) Abshear, Brittany (Jed) Hansen, and Taylor and Michael Footitt; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jon Footitt; and sisters, Carol Busche and Marjorie Clapp.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 PM to 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 10:30 AM, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Fargo. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
