Patricia "Pat" Elaine Tweeten was born March 17, 1932, in Lakota, ND, the youngest of twelve children, to Theodore and Olena (Helland) Tweeten.
The family moved to Devils Lake, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1950. She moved to Fargo, ND, where she worked for Midwest Printing and Lithography for about ten years.
On August 23, 1958, Pat married Melvin Richards in Moorhead, MN, and they moved to the home farm north of Moorhead. Pat died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at seventy-seven years of age, under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Pat is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Melvin; two sons, John (Dawn) Richards, Hawley, MN, and Jeff (Flo) Richards, rural Moorhead; five grandchildren, Ben (Allison) Richards, Sara (Josh) Koppelman, Katie Richards, Angie Richards and Michael Richards; three great-grandchildren, Abigail and Katelyn Koppelman, and Brooklyn Richards; two sisters, Edith Gibson, Devils Lake, and Leona Winters, Detroit Lakes, MN; a brother, Dewey (June) Tweeten, Devils Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George, Tillman and John; and five sisters, Nina, Olga, Sadie, Gladys and Gloria.
Visitation for Pat will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Her funeral will be Friday, March 12, 2010, at 11 AM, at Salem Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
