Paul Oliver Thompson was born December 16, 1923, in Louisville, KY. His parents were Milton and Lillian Thompson. Paul spent his childhood in Florida.
He enlisted in the Army in 1942, and served as a parachute trooper in World War II. In 1944, he was discharged in Los Angeles, CA. Paul spent time in Texas, Alaska and Oklahoma, where he worked in the oil fields.
On December 14, 1968, he married Evelyn Myrtle Miller. He finally settled in Seattle, WA, where he owned a bar, sold real estate and owned a barber shop. In 2007, Paul moved to Fargo, ND, to be near his family.
Halstad Living Center became his home in March of 2012, where he died Friday, July 12, 2013, at eighty-nine years of age.
He loved deep sea fishing, all types of music, his cat Spooky, and watching war and western movies.
He is survived by daughter, Barbara (Roger) Johnson, Fargo; son, Kent (Dorothy) Miller, Clearwater, MN; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Thompson, on October 23, 1986; daughter, Meredith Miller, in 1968; and daughter, Rozelle Husom, in 1984.
There will be a Gathering of Friends on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 3 - 5 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Inurnment will be in Washington Memorial Cemetery, Sea-Tac, WA.
