Paul V. DesJardins

Paul Vincent DesJardins was born January 27, 1922, to Ernest and Regina (Usselman) DesJardins, in Felton, MN, where he was raised and received his education.

Paul married Evelyn G. Kading, in Moorhead, MN, on January 4, 1944. Paul entered the US Army on July 24, 1945, at Fort Snelling, MN. After his discharge from the Army, Paul worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. Paul was the Standard Oil jobber for the Felton area for twenty years.

Paul lived in the Felton area his entire life until he entered Golden Living Center, Moorhead, in July of 2012. He died Thursday, December 12, 2013, in Golden Living Center, at ninety-one years of age.

Paul was community-minded and served on the Felton City Council for many years. He also served as the City Clerk. Paul was a member of the Felton American Legion and served as the sexton of the Felton Cemetery. Paul loved life, especially life in a small town. He was quick to laugh, loved children, and enjoyed playing the fiddle.

Paul is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Evelyn, Dilworth, MN; daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Kramer, Bemidji, MN; sisters, Darlene Boswell, Beaverton, OR, and Joan (Vernon) Miller, Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Regina; two sisters, Clara Anderson and LaVonne Kaspari; and four brothers, Marcel, George, Aaron, and Eugene.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 4 - 6 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and at the church one hour before the funeral. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 11 AM, in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton. Burial will be in the Felton Cemetery.
