Pearl M. Burley, age 92, of Moorhead, MN, died at Moorhead Healthcare Center on Monday, April17, 2006.
Pearl Marion Schroeder, the daughter of William and Josephine Schroeder, was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Fargo, ND, where she grew up and received her education. She graduated from high school and from Dakota Business College in Fargo.
On July 23, 1942, Pearl was united in marriage to G. Frank Burley, in Reno, NV. After Frank finished his military service, the couple made their home in Fargo. Pearl was a charter member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fargo. She worked as a bookkeeper at Dawson Insurance Company for many years.
Frank died in 1975. After his death, Pearl continued to live in Fargo. For the past year and a half, Pearl had been a resident of assisted living and at the Moorhead Healthcare Center. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Madeline Ackerson and Mary Fike; and three brothers, William, James and Andrew Schroeder.
Pearl is survived by a sister, Loretta (Alan) Melby, Hawley, MN; five nieces, Marilyn (Greg) Perlin, Minneapolis, MN, Marjorie Metzdorff, Summerset, WI, Kathryn Boyer, Atlanta, GA Marcia (Jack) Titus, Coon Rapids, MN, and Teresa Kuvaas, Belle Plaine, MN; five nephews, Richard Ackerson, Reno, NV, Jerry (Lori) Fike, Moorhead, Glenn (Kaweeta) Schroeder, Hillsboro, Oregon, Curtis (Carol) Schroeder, Hillsboro, OR and Mark (Janet) Melby, Fargo; and by many great-nieces and nephews.
