Pearl Irene Oien was born January 6, 1924, at the family home in Benson Corner, near Litchville, ND, to Peter and Inga (Walterson) Oien. Pearl graduated from high school at LaMoure, ND, and she attended Concordia College, Moorhead, MN.

She and her mother moved to Minneapolis, MN, where Pearl worked as an administrative assistant at Fort Snelling. Pearl married Milton "Milt" Anderson, on April 26, 1958, at High Prairie Lutheran Church, rural LaMoure, and they made their home in LaMoure. Following retirement, they moved to Fargo, ND.

Pearl was very active in High Prairie Lutheran Church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. Since moving to Fargo, she was involved in many activities at Atonement Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Pearl died Friday, September 16, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo, at eighty-seven years of age.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Milton "Milt", Fargo; two daughters, Marcia (Tim) Siegle, Cavalier, ND, and Kirsten (Jeff) Swanson, Rockford, MI; five grandchildren, Aaron (Jenny) Siegle, Ryan (Kirsten) Siegle, Sarah Siegle, Jacob Swanson, and Micah Swanson; great-granddaughter, Hope Juliet Siegle; and a sister-in-law, Edna Oien.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her brother, Maurice Oien.

Visitation for Pearl will be Monday, September 19, 2011, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at 10 AM, in Atonement Lutheran Church, Fargo. Burial will be Tuesday at 2:30 PM, in High Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, rural LaMoure, ND.
