Pearl R. Erickson, surrounded by her loving family, was called peacefully home to the Lord on August 10, 2010. Pearl will always be remembered for her optimistic, high-energy, and self-sacrificing attitude.
She was born in Gary, MN, on October 18, 1929, to Albert and Gina (Noto) Krogstad. Following high school graduation, she attended North Dakota Business College and worked as a bookkeeper until meeting the love of her life, Roy Erickson. They were married July 1, 1950, in Fertile, MN, and recently celebrated sixty years together on July 1, 2010.
Her passion for sales and volunteering led to many enriching friendships over the years.
Pearl is survived by her husband Roy, Fargo, ND; son, Mart (Linn) Erickson, Grants Pass, OR; five daughters, Jane (David) Erickson, Fargo, Joan Erickson, Boise, ID, Judy (Tom) Ihle, Glyndon, MN, Jeneen (Craig) Newman, Boise, and Janice (Craig) Smith, Sioux Falls, SD; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Jane Olson, Custer, SD, and June Young, Middle River, MN; two brothers, Jim (Katy) Krogstad, Fertile, and Terry (Jean) Krogstad, Boise; sister-in-law; Elaine Krogstad, Crookston, MN; and a brother-in-law, Ron Holmstrom, Sedro Woolley, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Russell Krogstad, Crookston; and sister, Fran Holmstrom, Sedro Woolley.
Pearl's family would like to extend their thanks to loving relatives and friends, the wonderful healthcare providers from Sanford Home Health, Active-At-Home Helpers, Sanford Health and Palliative Care.
Visitation for Pearl will be Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 10 - 11 AM, in Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo.
A celebration of Pearl's life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at 11 AM, with burial
