Pearl Conant was welcomed to her eternal family on Saturday, June 21, 2014. She passed away unexpectedly at the age of 88 in her home at Eventide in Moorhead, MN, with her most beloved at her side. Pearl was born on June 13, 1926 to Peder and Olivia (Tall) Ronsberg on their family farmstead in Barnesville, MN. She was raised on the farm and in Gran Lutheran Church in rural Hawley along with her brothers and sister. Pearl graduated from Barnesville High School in 1944.
In 1950, Pearl met Marvin Leonard Conant while working at Pure Foods in Fargo, ND, and, after much pleading, finally agreed to a first date. Shortly after, Marv became the love of her life and the two were married on August 2, 1953. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage last summer surrounded by family and friends. Pearl dedicated her life to serving others. She spent several years watching the playground at George Washington Elementary School and serving samples for Cass Clay Creamery in the local grocery stores. More than anything though, Pearl dedicated her life to loving, building, and serving her family. She and Marv raised four beautiful children together who gave them seven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren whom they love dearly. Pearl poured her heart into her family and made homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother into her full time job. She is deeply missed.
Pearl is survived by her husband, Marvin Conant; daughter, Janice (Tim) Stoa ; three sons, James Conant, Jeffrey (Tammy) Conant, and John (Mary) Conant; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Christina) and Daniel Stoa, Justin (Christine) and Travis Conant, and Becca, Bradley, and Kyle Conant; and four great-grandchildren, Brevin and Callie Stoa, and Rylan and Tenley Conant. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Peder and Olivia Ronsberg; her sister, Ione (Ronsberg) Krueger; and three brothers, Odean, Vernon, and Virgil Ronsberg.
