Peggy A. Shafer, 36, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, January 18, 2009, in MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Peggy Ann Koosmann was born January 24, 1972, in Appleton, MN, to Palmer and Barbara (Lentsch) Koosmann. The family moved to Crookston, MN, then Minneapolis, MN. They eventually moved back to Crookston in 1984, where Peggy graduated from Central High School.
Peggy married David Query in Crookston where she attended beauty school and the University of Minnesota, Crookston, for a short period of time. They moved to Baudette, MN, where she worked for various businesses and in 1996, Peggy moved to Fargo and began working for US Bank, formerly First Bank. On April 27, 2002, Peggy married Chris Shafer in Moorhead, where they made their home.
Peggy loved crafts, cooking, reading and caring for her dogs, Skippy, Sadie, and Skeeter. She also enjoyed traveling on cruises with Chris. Peggy had a very giving heart and would always lend a hand to help another person. She will always be lovingly missed and her memory will be cherished forever.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Chris, Moorhead; a son, Garrett Query, Fargo; a daughter, Breanna Query, Moorhead; her mother, Barbara (Russ) LaChance, Crookston; her father, Palmer (Nancy) Koosmann, Surprise, AZ; a sister, Angela Stewart and her son, Aaron, Moorhead; two brothers, Paul Midderigh, Tacoma, WA, and Brian Midderigh, Los Altos, CA, and his children, Derek and Kyra, Crookston; her grandmother, Rose Lentsch, Crookston; maternal aunts and uncles, Donald (Eiko) Lentsch, Joseph (Evelyn) Lentsch, John (Anmari) Lentsch, Rosemarie (Tim) Chrissis, Mary Jane Lentsch (Alan Kriz), Margaret (Doug) Hagenson; paternal aunts and uncles, John Miller, Walter (Phyllis) Koosmann, and Henry (June) Koosmann; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam (Donna) Shafer; and a sister-in-law, Tina (Mike) Fisher, and their son, Benjamin; and numerous other relatives and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Lentsch and Walter and Ida Koosmann; and uncle, Robert Lentsch; and an aunt, Elaine Miller.
Visitation: Thursday from 5 - 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Friday, January 23, 2009, at 1 PM, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
