Peter Erik Mead, 54, of Las Vegas, NV, and Moorhead, MN, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Las Vegas on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. He was born August 26, 1960, to Robert and Solveig (Ramstad) Mead in Fargo, ND.
Peter attended Moorhead High School and later Minnesota State University, Moorhead, and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he studied economics.
Peter cared passionately about his interests, which were many. He loved to fish, especially at Lake Vermilion in northern Minnesota where he spent many weeks fishing, cutting paths through the woods, and visiting with neighbors. His dogsâ'always Rottweilersâ'were loved companions and shared his home. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking, and when cooking, liked experimenting with new things.
In 2002, Peter started a company in Fargo, which published a magazine, sponsored training seminars and online lectures, among other things. As his business grew, he discovered the need for more frequent trips to Las Vegas and decided to move there a year and a half ago. He also maintained an office in Fargo. Peter had a warm personality and enjoyed the many friendships he had here and in Nevada. He will be missed by many.
Survivors are his mother and stepfather, Solveig and Ken Berg, Dilworth, MN; his aunt and uncle, Ellen and Bob Wright, Moorhead; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral service for Peter will be on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 2 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. Burial will be in Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Glyndon, MN.
