Peter H. Jesten

Peter Hans Jesten, husband, father, son, and brother, died at the age of 61, on Sunday, April 3, 2016, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Pete was born to George Jesten and Gloria Larson on March 22, 1955, in Moorhead, MN. When he graduated from Fargo North High, he enlisted in the Navy where he proudly served until his medical discharge. As Fargo has always been home to him, Pete returned home and worked various jobs, including Prairie Web Press, for a number of years. He loved exploring the area on his motorcycle, hunting in the fall with friends, and doing woodworking at home. He will be remembered for his crazy sense of humor, his ability to think positively, and his amazing taste in music. He saw each day as a blessing, lived each day to the fullest, and always had a smile and a conversation for anyone he met.

Pete will be forever remembered by numerous dear friends and his loving family: his soul mate, Teresa (Nibbe) Jesten; his children, Brandi (Jason) Malarkey, Bobbi Jesten, and Carlee and Carson Schroeter; his grandchildren, Landra Malarkey and Jordan Johnson; his parents, Robert Larson and Charlene Jesten; his sisters, Pam (Tom Bonhus) Schwan, Terri (David Busby) Fischer, and Lois Ritter; father and mother-in-law, Don (Maxine) Nibbe; brother-in-law, Troy (Danielle) Nibbe; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his life-long friend, Kim O'Neil.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Jesten; and mother, Gloria Larson.

Memorial donations in memory of Pete can be made to either Disabled American Veterans or to the Healing Garden at the Fargo Veteran Affairs Hospital. Special thanks to the staff at the VA, especially Oncology, for their support and care over the past two years.

A Visitation for Pete will be Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a 7 PM Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Visitation and Viewing will also take place one hour prior to the service in the church.

A Celebration of Pete's Life will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11 AM, in Hope Lutheran Church - North Campus, Fargo with a fellowship and lunch to follow.

Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo.
