Phyllis L. Baker

Phyllis Baker, 62, Moorhead, MN, passed away in her home on Wednesday, June 18, 2014.

Phyllis Lorraine Wolf was born on July 8, 1951, in Dixon, IL, to Robert and Martha (Wiltfang) Wolf. She graduated from high school and moved several times before living in Moorhead.

Phyllis, who never liked bills, worked two jobs her whole life to keep them away. She was a very hard worker and always put her family's needs before her own. She worked for years at Dakota Hospital in Fargo, cleaning operating rooms. She also worked at the Silver Spike Motel and opened the store most mornings at Petro Serve USA for 16 years.

On her second stint at Hornbacher's (which she affectionately nicknamed, "Horny's") she met the love of her life, Mike Baker, while working the graveyard shift. They were married on November 21, 2001. They enjoyed nearly six wonderful years together before Mike passed away in 2007. Phyllis continued to live in Moorhead and took enjoyment in her pastimes, watching crime dramas, doing crossword puzzles, and making a yards-long chain from Juicy Fruit Gum wrappers.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Dave (Dawn) Burnside, Spokane, WA, Valerie (Troy) Tuton, Jacksonville, NC, and Veronica (Rick) Vennes, Richville, MN; grandchildren, Ashley Collins (fiancé, Leo Jorschund), Kayla Weaver, Dakota Collins, Stephen Jr. and Adam Tuton; two great-granddaughters, Anilighi Fredrickson and Leela Mari Collins; her father, Robert; brother, Raymond (Magda) Wolf; and nephews, Evan and Cameron Wolf.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Martha; brother, Doug; stillborn sister, Valerie Jane; and father-in-law, Joe Baker.

Visitation: One hour prior to service. Funeral Service: Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 3:00 PM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.

Burial and Graveside Service: Friday, July 18, 2014, at 10:00 AM, in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
