Rachel Anne Farnsworth, age 36, was healed forever from her 4-month battle with cancer and entered the full presence of Jesus her Savior on November 2, 2017, at her home in Lino Lakes, MN, surrounded by family.
Rachel was born in Fargo, ND on November 6, 1980, the second of five daughters born to Richard Jr and Ruth (Christopherson) Clarens. Rachel was raised and educated in Fargo, graduating from Fargo North High School in 1999 and Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, in 2003. Rachel met the love of her life, Jim Farnsworth, while in high school, playing violin as stand partners in the ND All-State Orchestra. Their relationship grew as they continued playing violin together while both attended Concordia College. Rachel and Jim were married on August 20, 2005 near Park River, ND, making their home in Shoreview, MN, then Lino Lakes, near where Jim is employed as an engineer.
Rachel had a deep and genuine faith in God. She prioritized her own Christian growth and that of her children, teaching AWANA at church, participating in Bible Study Fellowship, and instructing her children in the ways of the Lord. The joy of her life was being a mother to her children and a helpmate to her husband. Trips to the family farm and lake cabins were favorite destinations for special memory making. She was a natural conversationalist and was quick to befriend those around her. Rachel was a professional homemaker. She always had a furniture refinishing or home improvement project in the works, or a loaf of banana bread in the oven. Rachel was a true servant. She will be remembered for her humble service to God and unselfish love toward all she came in contact with.
Rachel is survived by her loving husband, Jim; and their children, Alina, age 11, Nathaniel, age 8, Naomi, age 6, and Clara, age 4, all of Lino Lakes; her parents, Ruth and Richard Clarens Jr., Fargo; grandfather, Richard Clarens Sr., Fargo; sisters, Christine (Eric) Uggerud, Fergus Falls, MN, and their children, Josiah, Lydia, Anna and Timothy, Johanna Clarens, Richfield, MN, Andrea Clarens, Fargo, and Laura Clarens, St. Paul, MN; her in-laws, Arlene and David Farnsworth, Bismarck, ND; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leone (Metcalf) Clarens, and Bergetta (Flaten) and Leonard Christopherson; and her great-grandmother, Bess (Clarens) Murray.
