Randy Holcomb

Randy Holcomb, 49, of Moorhead, MN, passed away August 21, 2014, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND, after many years of struggling with diabetes.

Randy Lee Holcomb was born on March 20, 1965, in New Rockford, ND, to Roger and Nancy (Mehlhoff) Holcomb. He was baptized in Minot, ND, at the Zion Lutheran Church. At age 10, Randy was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and attended several diabetic camps throughout his childhood. After graduating from Mentor High School in 1984, Randy worked at various jobs including Lakeview Resort, Dee Inc., and hauled beets during harvest.

Randy married Betsey Lutgen on July 20, 2002, and they made their home in Blackduck, MN. In 2009, due to diabetic complications, it was necessary for Randy to move to Moorhead and continue dialysis treatments. Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and anything that involved wildlife.

Randy is survived by his parents, Roger and Nancy Holcomb; sisters, Ronette (Bob) Lyczewski, Rhonda (Terry) Hartje, and Robyn (Joe) Ingvalson; 16 nieces and nephews; wife, Betsey; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Roxanne Holcomb; grandparents, Chester and Florence Holcomb and Arthur and Gladys Mehlhoff; and his dog, Pepper.

A visitation for Randy will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

His funeral service will be Monday, August 25, 2014, at 1:00 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will take place in Rest Haven Cemetery, Rural East Grand Forks, MN.
