Raymond J. Janousek, 96, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.
Raymond John Janousek was born on September 8, 1922, to John and Mary (Frede) Janousek in Cloquet, MN. He grew up there and worked at a paper mill. He served during WWII in the Army Air Force from July 15, 1942, until December 6, 1945. He moved to Moorhead where he was self-employed as a sign painter and calligrapher. He eventually started his own business, Associated Arts Printing, which served the Moorhead and surrounding communities for 35 years. He married the love of his life, Virginia Goode, on January 14, 1961, and they were married until her death in 2015.
Raymond had a few hobbies, including his involvement in the theatre in his younger years, golfing, and watching football. In his time at Villa Maria, he became well known for his involvement in the various activities there; bingo, singalongs, and the church services were some of his favorites.
Raymond was known for his positive outlook on life and that he didn't take anything too seriously. He was a people person, strong willed, and could be remembered saying, "There's no sense in worrying about anything."
He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed.
Raymond is survived by his children, Linda (Timothy) Jerzeski of Duluth, MN, Edward Farley of Felton, MN, Steven (Cheryl) of Minneapolis, MN, John (Kary) of West Fargo, ND, and Robert of Moorhead; grandchildren, Lily, Ruth, and Edward Farley Jr.
