Raynald J. Toutant, 71, Fargo, ND, died Monday, April 16, 2007 in Innovis Hospital, Fargo.
Raynald Joseph "Toot" Toutant was born June 22, 1935, to Rene and Helen (Capon) Toutant in Treherne, Manitoba, Canada, where he grew up and received his education.
In 1952, Raynald enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served until his discharge in 1956, when he immigrated and became a US citizen. He then enlisted in the US Air Force. After his discharge from the Air Force in 1960, Raynald began working as an airplane mechanic for Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
On April 8, 1961, Raynald married Yvonne Olson in Moorhead. They made their home in Oklahoma until they moved to Fargo in 1963. Raynald then worked as a mechanic for the ND Air National Guard until his retirement in 1987.
Raynald played the guitar in the bands the Country Kings and the Scottsmen. He enjoyed computers, crossword puzzles and water skiing. He was a handyman, tinkering away at projects and working with wood.
Raynald is lovingly survived by his wife, Yvonne, Fargo; three daughters, Cindy (Terry) Stock, Minot, ND, Shari Akay, Olympia, WA, and Annette Toutant, Apple Valley, MN; three grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher and Shannon Stock; two sisters, Doreen Toutant, Winnipeg, and Aleta (Tim) Cacanindin, Manitoba; his mother-in-law, Mary Olson, Moorhead; and many other special family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gerald.
Visitation: Friday from 5 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Prayer Service: Friday at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Mass: Saturday, April 21, 2007, at 10 AM, in Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo.
Inurnment: Holy Cross Cemetery North, Fargo.
