Rev. Fr. Llewelyn "Lew" Troska

Fr. Llewelyn Joseph Troska, 59, Fargo, ND, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2017, at Sanford Health in Fargo, after a long, hard and valiant fight for life.

Born in Thief River Falls MN, August 6, 1957, to Harvey and Betty Troska, he was raised in Goodridge, MN. He attended Crosier Seminary in Onamia, MN, and graduated with his class at Goodridge High School in 1976. He is a graduate of St. John's University, St. Cloud, MN, and was ordained in 1985, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN.

Fr. Llewelyn was called to serve at St. Odilia American National Catholic Church, Fargo, in 2009, and continued to minister to its flock until recent days.

Fr. Lew was also a productive member of the workforce at SK Foods International. He was a proud puppy parent to two lively furry friends, Tootsie and Jackie. Lew loved to grow flowers and grapes, bake, and was known for his beautiful crochet work and his more beautiful voice. One of his favorites to sing was Amazing Grace.

A devoted priest to his flock and a counselor, a co-worker, a friend, a brother and a son, Fr. Lew was known and respected by many and touched the hearts and minds of many more during his time on earth.

He is survived by his siblings, Georgine Troska (Marilyn Terry,) Daniel Troska, Vickie Smisek (Gerald), Patrick Troska, Diana Schulz (James), Richard Troska (Tanya), and James Troska (Jenifer); mother, Betty Troska; many friends and family members; thirteen nieces and nephews; two grand-nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and long-time friend, Randy Reichert.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Troska,

A celebration of the life of Fr. Llewelyn Troska will be held at Concordia College Centrum, Moorhead, MN, Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 3:00 PM.

Visitation will be one hour before the service
