Richard "Dickie" Leslie Rott was born September 26, 1949, to Leslie and Gertrude (Cooper) Rott, in Jamestown, ND. He was the eldest of six children.
Dickie graduated from Moorhead (MN) High School in 1968 and worked in many retail stores in the Fargo-Moorhead area. He relocated to Minneapolis, MN, where he began working for American Bank and Trust.
Dickie loved music, traveling, and spending time with his family and many friends. He enjoyed summers at the lakes and keeping score for his softball team. Dickie was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. He was also involved with many charitable events.
Dickie died Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, at sixty-two years of age.
He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Rott, Moorhead; brothers, Jerry Rott, Moorhead, and Thomas (Pauly) Rott, Fargo; sisters, Debbie (Gary) Peterson, and Pam (Todd) Palmer, both Moorhead, sister, LuAnn (David) Sharpe, Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews. Dickie was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Rott.
There will be a gathering of friends Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 5 - 7 PM, with a sharing of memories at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
A Celebration Service will be Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.
