Richard Krauth

Richard Alan "Rick" Krauth was born to Richard W. and Audrey (Griffin) Krauth in Moorhead, MN, on Dec 15, 1955. He attended St. Joseph's School, graduated from Moorhead Senior High, Moorhead Technical College, and much later Minnesota State University Moorhead. He was an avid swimmer, lifeguard, and swimming instructor.

For much of his career, Rick worked as an electronic technician and general manager of United Music, and he owned a roller skating rink in Bemidji, MN. He had a passion for working with people and helping others which he demonstrated in various other recent jobs.

Rick married Faith Wattenphul in 1975 and divorced in 1997. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved to spend time with family and do ‘grandpa daycare'.

Rick survived a 28 hour surgery in 1998 to remove a softball sized brain tumor which gave him a new outlook and appreciation for life. He loved to attend church and study his Bible. Hobbies included spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and doing home-improvement projects.

Rick passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep after a wonderful Christmas Eve with family.

He is survived by; children Gerald (Sheryl) Krauth, Moorhead; Heidi (James) Meline, Fargo, ND; Tiffaney (Matthew) Fry, North Branch, MN; and Samuel Krauth, Fargo; grandchildren Abigail, Ethan & Evan Krauth, Noah & Clara Meline, and Maisie Fry; parents, Richard & Audrey Krauth, Moorhead; brother Patrick (Ann) Krauth; sister Deborah (Steve) Gravalin; brother Robert (Janice) Krauth; and a very large extended family.

Visitation: Sunday, 4 PM to 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 6 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 31, 2012, at 11 AM in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo
