Richard Norman Johnson, 66, died Saturday, September 20, 2014, at University of Minnesota Medical Center from complications following heart transplant surgery. He was at peace and surrounded by family.

Richard was born on November 5, 1947, in Fargo, ND, to Ruby and Rudolph Johnson.

Richard received a Computer Science Degree from Minnesota State University in 1986 and went on to found several successful companies with his wife, Denise. He was known for his love of family, bowling, casinos, and adventure. Richard and Denise traveled extensively, spending the last three winters traveling throughout the South.

Richard is survived by his wife, Denise; his children, Wendy Howes, Wanda Jenson, Summer (Christian) Kjelland, and Siri (Martyn) Mitchell; twelve grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Keith) Aho and Holly (Wayne) Osborne; and brothers, LeRoy (Rosemary) Johnson, James (Linda) Johnson, and Douglas Johnson.

Visitation will begin Thursday at 10 AM in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. The memorial service will be Thursday, September 25, 2014, at 11 AM in Bethesda Lutheran Church. The committal service will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, and lunch will follow at Bethesda.
