Richard Stevenson

Richard O. Stevenson of Moorhead, MN. Died on March 3, 2015, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, MN.

Richard (Dick) Stevenson was born on July 7, 1934 in Viding Township on a farm northwest of Felton, MN, to Maurice and Alvina (Kolle) Stevenson. He graduated from Felton High School and enlisted thereafter in the United States Army, where he was stationed overseas in Germany. While there he met his wife, Lore.

Lore and Richard were married June 20, 1958, in Moorhead. They were blessed with two daughters. Richard worked for the Clay County Highway Department until his retirement in 1996. Dick, as he was known to all who knew him, will always be remembered for his big smile and his gentle nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lore; daughters, Susan (Rodney) Burkhardt, Goodyear, AZ, and Sharon (Todd) Johnson, Avondale, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Burkhardt, Matthew (Meghan) Burkhardt, Samantha Johnson, and Catherine Johnson; great-grandsons, Braxton and Cole Burkhardt, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Visitation for Mr. Stevenson will be Monday, March 9, 2015, from 10 AM until 11 AM in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, Moorhead.

The funeral service will follow on Monday at 11 AM, also in the church.
