Richard William Grosz was born April 5, 1929, in New Leipzig, ND, the son of Henry and Frieda (Kurtz) Grosz. Richard grew up and attended school in New Leipzig and served in the Korean War from 1951 - 1952. When he returned, Richard attended and graduated from Dakota Business College, Fargo, ND.
On October 30, 1953, Richard was united in marriage to Rosella Lehr, in Jamestown, ND. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1954, and Richard worked for Nodak Mutual Insurance Company, Fargo, for thirty-six years. Richard's love for the Lord motivated him to serve in his church. He was also a volunteer at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, for eleven years. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Surrounded by his loving family, Richard went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 18, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital, at seventy-four years of age.
Richard is survived by his wife, Rosella, Moorhead; two sons, Dennis Grosz and his wife, Danelle, Sartell, MN, and Mike Grosz and his wife, Michele, Fargo; one daughter, Nancy Palmer and her husband, Carl, Moorhead; eight grandchildren, one brother, Herman Grosz and his wife, Catherine, Bismarck, ND; and two sisters, Esther Haas, Elgin, ND, and Lydia Schatz and her husband, Ervin, Carson, ND.
Visitation for Richard will be Sunday, March 21, 2004, from 5 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. The funeral will be Monday, March 22, 2004, at 10:30 AM, in Calvary Baptist Church, 802 N. Broadway, Fargo. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.
