Rick D. Hoy

Rick D. Hoy, 50, Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo.

Rick was born on February 23, 1963, to Gary and Jane (Kruger) Hoy. Rick graduated from West Fargo High School in 1981 and earned a degree in accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead, MN. Rick proceeded to work as a warehouse director for Nash Finch Company for 28 years before transferring to Magnum Ltd. where in his short time there, he felt thoroughly loved and supported by everyone he worked with.

He married Cindy Kiemele in 1988 and together they had three children; Samantha, Allison, and Garrett, whom he loved immensely. Rick and his family moved multiple times before settling in Fargo in 1999.

Besides work, Rick was passionate about many things including country music, NASCAR, and hunting. Rick is described as a fun-loving man who was able to make friends with everyone he met. Rick had a big personality matched by a large heart for all the people that came into his life. Rick was a season ticket holder for the local Bison games, as well as a regular tailgater. Rick was not afraid to live life to the fullest and he enjoyed his life, as much as anyone possibly could, with the people who were dearest to him.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; his beautiful children, Samantha, Allison, and Garrett; along with three siblings, Terry (Tina), Shelly (Dave), and Bonnie (Mike); and many nieces and nephews, Savannah, Dallas, Michael, Marcus, Nicole, Garrett, and Matthew.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

Visitation: Sunday, 5 PM to 8 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN. Funeral: Monday, September 9, 2013, at 1 PM, in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, 2702 30th Ave. South, Fargo. All who knew Rick are welcome to attend and join his family in honoring his memory.
