Ricky R. Larson

Ricky Ray Larson was born May 29, 1962, to Harvey and Sondra (Reich) Larson, in Aberdeen, SD, where he attended O.M. Tiffany Elementary School and Holgate Junior High. Rick graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1980.
Rick owned and operated his own restaurant in Gettysburg, SD, for several years. He moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1987, where he worked as a chef at Highway Host until his health began to fail. Rick was then able to work from his home, for Fargo Assembly, building wire harnesses and connectors.
With his family and friends by his side, Rick died Thursday, September 9, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND, at forty-two years of age.
Rick had the biggest heart of anyone. He gave so much and took so little. He loved his dog, Cedrick, and all his cats. Rick enjoyed gardening, painting, crafts and music. Most of all, Rick loved spending time at their cabin on the Wild Rice River near Twin Valley, MN.
Rick is lovingly survived by his very special friend, Tim Pagel, Moorhead; his parents, Harvey and Sondra Larson, Aberdeen; his two sisters, Sherry Lassle and her husband, Terry, Moorhead, and Christy Brubaker and her husband, Gary, Aberdeen; his three nieces, Jayme Lassle, Moorhead, and Kari Biel and Sara Brubaker, both Aberdeen; and his two nephews, Aaron Lassle, Moorhead, and Alan Taylor, Aberdeen. Rick was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A memorial gathering of friends will be Tuesday, September 14, 2004, from 5 - 8 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
