Rita M. Bryce

Rita Marie Wolters was born January 9, 1935, to William and Antonio (Chilar) Wolters, in Belle River, MN. She graduated from Alexandria (MN) High School.

On September 16, 1954, Rita married Walter Bryce at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. They farmed for 27 years on the family farm near Villard, MN. After moving to Battle Lake, MN, she was a custodian for Battle Lake Public Schools. Rita and Walter made their retirement home in Staples, MN. In 2011, they moved to Serenity Assisted Living in Dilworth, MN. Walter died in January of 2012.

Rita enjoyed walking, shopping, and having coffee with friends. She also enjoyed collecting salt & pepper shakers, Coca-Cola collectibles and Pillsbury Doughboy items.

Rita was a gentle soul who spent her life taking care of her family and friends, always putting their needs above her own. Her bright smile and endless energy will be greatly missed.

Rita passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015, at her home, at eighty years of age.

Rita is survived by her children, Irene (James) Dombeck, Moorhead, MN, Agnes Elliot, Evansville, MN, Jim (Kimberly) Bryce, Rosholt, SD, Bernie (Julie) Bryce, Glenwood, MN, Susan (Mark) Benson, DeWitt, IA, Loretta Adams, Lone Tree, CO, and Lorraine Bryce, Fargo, ND; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter Bryce; daughter, Theresa Bryce; parents, William and Antonio Wolters; her sister JoAnn (Wolters) Nelson, and her brother Paul Wolters.

Family and friends are invited to gather Monday, August 24, 2015, at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, from 5-7 PM. with a prayer service at 7 PM.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 PM. Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Moorhead.

Interment will be Wednesday at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley, MN.
