Robert (Bob) Anthony Deschamp "Disco Bob", 59, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, March 13, 2006, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Bob was born July 29, 1946, the son of the late Edgar Deschamp and Irene Deschamp, in Westhope, ND. He was reared and educated in Westhope, graduating from Westhope High School in 1964. Following his graduation, he attended the State School of Forestry in Bottineau, ND, for two years. He then attended North Dakota State University, Fargo and graduated with a degree in Agriculture Economics.
Bob was married to Marlene Thompson and from this union they had two daughters, Sarah and Andrea. Bob worked for the Ford dealership in Valley City, ND, and Red River Grain, Fargo, for many years. He was also a salesman for Trigg Trailers. Bob won many trips and received many awards as outstanding salesperson. He was recently employed at G.P.K., Fargo.
When Bob was in high school he was very interested in 4-H projects. He raised many registered shorthorn beef cattle, Suffolk sheep, and rabbits of many breeds, and sold them to grocery stores in Minot, ND. He showed his animals at the county and state fair and won many ribbons. He was selected to represent Bottineau County in the seed and animal judging team in Fargo. He was also honored as an outstanding 4-H member of Bottineau County. Bob was an avid hunter and he conducted many hunting trips to Montana. He was interested in big game hunting.
Bob is survived by his two daughters, Sarah and Andrea, both of Fargo; his former wife, Marlene; his mother, Irene, Minot; his sisters, Karen Bergstad, Bismarck, ND, Peggy Brudwick, Fargo, and Diane (Chub) Olson, Moorhead; his friend, Toni, Moorhead; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar; and his grandparents.
A visitation and prayer service was held on Tuesday at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
The funeral mass is today, Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at 11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Inurnment will take place at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Memorials may be sent to the Roger Maris Cancer Center in memory of Bob.
