Robert A. Pickar

Robert Arthur Pickar was born June 21, 1929, in Wadena, MN, to Peter and Alma (Grewing) Pickar. He was raised in rural Wadena where he received his education.
Bob was married to June Webber on September 22, 1950, in Valley City, ND, and they lived in the Pillsbury and Finley, ND, areas. They moved to Karnak, ND, in the early 1960's where Bob managed the grain elevator. June died on August 18, 1990, and he remained in Karnak, where he retired in 1992.
Bob married Phyllis Marshall on December 26, 1991, in Hawaii, and they lived in Dilworth, MN, and later on Leaf Lake near Lake Park, MN. They spent the winter months in Apache Junction, AZ. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in July of 2004, and Phyllis died August 17, 2007.
Bob died Sunday, August 8, 2010, at his home, at eighty-one years of age.
Bob is survived by his five children, John (Bunny) Pickar, Valley City, ND, Sandra (Allen) Weiss, Helendale, CA, Ellen Schirmer, Detroit Lakes, MN, Peggy (Dan) Schlenk, Apache Junction, and Ross (Connie) Pickar, Underwood, ND; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Robert (Philomena) Marshall, Elk River, MN, Thomas (Erin) Marshall, Washington, DC, and Richard Marshall, Fergus Falls, MN; a stepdaughter, Jane (Allen) Keys, Erie, ND; seven step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and two brothers, Richard (Eva) Pickar, Finley, and Peter (Marion) Pickar, Hope, ND.
The Memorial Mass for Robert will be Friday, August 13, 2010, at 10:30 AM, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, rural Dazey, ND.
Inurnment will take place in Ladbury Cemetery, rural Dazey.
