Robert A. Wohlwend Sr, age 87, Wolverton, ND, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.
Robert Anton Wohlwend, the son of Sophia and Anton Wohlwend, was born in Pasadena, CA, on March 11, 1920. He grew up and received his education in the Lidgerwood, ND, area, where he graduated from high school. He also attended Wahpeton (ND) State School of Science.
On June 14, 1947, Robert was united in marriage to Ruth Evelyn Otterburn, in Fargo. Following their marriage, they lived in the Wyndmere, ND, area.
In 1949, they moved to the Wolverton area, where they farmed, until retiring in 1985. Robert served on the Wolverton School Board, was a member of Wolverton Evangelical Free Church, and was active in many local youth groups.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, Wolverton; three children, Cheryl Cloutier, San Francisco, CA, Robert Wohlwend Jr., Moorhead, MN, and Roxann Henderson, Ham Lake, MN; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Kramer, Robert Wohlwend III, and Theresa, Brady, and Travis Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Loren; and two sisters, Esther and Alice.
