Robert "Bob" Daniel Larson, age 85, Moorhead, MN, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, under the care of Eventide staff and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Robert was born on September 3, 1924, to Daniel and Etta (Derraugh) Larson in Cooperstown, ND. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Hannaford, ND, and graduated from Hannaford High School in 1942.
After graduation, he moved to Fargo, ND to work. Robert received training in radio operations as part of the National Youth Administration. During WWII, Bob was drafted into the US Army Air Forces, where he operated and repaired radios in China and India. He served for two years and was honorably discharged in 1946. Following the war, Bob worked for Allen Jewelry Store in Cooperstown, ND, where he repaired radios. From 1948 to 1952, he attended Concordia College in Moorhead, and received an undergraduate degree in physics and mathematics. He later received his masters degree in education from NDSU, Fargo.
Robert was married to Dorothy Erickson at Fisher Lutheran Church, Fisher, MN, on August 8, 1954.
He taught at Hawley (MN) High School, from 1952 to 1958 and Moorhead High School from 1958 until he retired in 1986. He also worked many summers as a crop hail adjuster.

He was an active member of The Lutheran Church of Christ the King in Moorhead where he sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and served as council president. He was also a member of the Moorhead Kiwanis. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed reading, music, woodworking and carpentry. Bob was a quiet, gentle, kind man whose family meant a great deal to him. He treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of fifty-five years; one son, Roger (Jackie) Larson, Woodbury, MN; three daughters, Beth (Bruce) Fanfulik, East Grand Forks, MN, Ruth (Tom) Kloster, Bismarck, ND, and Marilyn (John) Torvik, Savage, MN; eleven grandchild
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, stepmother, sister, and a special aunt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Christ the King building fund, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or Alzheimer's Association.
A gathering of friends will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010, from 5 - 6:30 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
The memorial service will be Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 11 AM, in Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead.
