Robert G. Ellis, 89, of Moorhead, MN, died on Friday, September 25, 2020, in Lilac Homes, Dilworth, MN.
Robert George Ellis was born July 31, 1931, the son of George and Helen (Stoen) Ellis, in Detroit Lakes, MN. He was raised in Detroit Lakes where he attended school. Robert then served in the U.S. Air Force.
He lived in Ohio for a number of years before returning to Moorhead where he has since made his home. For many years he worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. Robert was united in marriage to Elizabeth Slone and they made their home in Moorhead. Elizabeth passed away January 7, 2019.
Robert enjoyed woodworking, going to flea markets, reading books about cars, watching western movies, listening to music and going to the casino. He also loved spending time outdoors and visiting with family and friends. One of his favorite places to eat was Ruby Tuesday's where he would enjoy their hickory smoked salmon, french fries, broccoli and a diet coke.
Robert is survived by his immediate family members.
A Graveside service will be held at the Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
