Robert "Bob" Dean Volochenko, 48, Moorhead, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003, in his home.
Bob was born on July 13, 1955, to Henry and La Donna Volochenko in Minot, ND. As a small child, Bob moved with his family to Moorhead where he attended school, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1972. He then attended Moorhead Technical College receiving a degree in Construction Electricity in 1974. In 1975 Bob joined the Electrical Workers Local #1426 and started his journey as an electrician working with various local electrical contractors.
Bob was united in marriage to Alice M. Wendell of Dilworth, MN, on November 19, 1976. The couple made their home in Moorhead.
In 1984 Bob began working for Brandt Electric out of Olivia, MN. During this time, Bob served as a journeyman electrician and foreman on a number of Brandt Electric projects, including the Beltrami County Jail, Beltrami, MN, 3M Plant in Brookings, SD, Moorhead Wastewater Treatment Facility, and the Fergus Falls Wastewater Treatment Facility, Fergus Falls, MN. Illness forced Bob's retirement in 1995.
Bob loved fishing, woodworking, motorcycle riding, working on cars, and spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Alice, Moorhead; one daughter, Kari Ann (Jamie) Abner, Fargo; one son, Michael, Moorhead; two granddaughters, Ashleigh and Aleigha Abner; his parents, Henry and La Donna, Moorhead; three brothers, Steve, Balfour, ND, Ron (Lori), Winter Haven, FL, and Paul, Silvis, IL; two sisters, Kathy (Dave) Prouty, Mantorville, MN, and Mary Kay Volochenko, Moorhead; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
