Rodney D. Loffelmacher, 69, of Horace, ND, died on Saturday, September 2, 2017, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Rodney Dean Loffelmacher was born September16, 1947, the son of Hugo and Marion (Gress) Loffelmacher, in Fargo, ND. He was raised and attended school at McHenry, ND, before moving to New Mexico. Rodney then moved back to, North Dakota, before entering the U. S. Army, serving from 1965-1971. After his discharge, he moved to Fargo where he began driving truck for Ted Clark.
Rodney was united in marriage to DeVon Hoff on a farm near Bowden, ND, and to this union Randy and Dena were born. They made their home in Fargo and later moved to Moorhead, MN, where he continued to drive truck for many companies. Rodney later became an owner/operator of his own truck and contracted with several local companies.
Rodney enjoyed gopher hunting, cooking and AMC Ramblers. He loved spending time with his family, especially children and grandchildren. Rodney especially enjoyed taking his children and other family members on many over-the-road trips. One thing his children remember is how he taught them to be self-sufficient.
He is survived by his children, Ronald (Kim) Loffelmacher, Lawton, OK, Randy Loffelmacher, Brooklyn, NY, and Dena (Josh) Loffelmacher-Williams, Fargo; grandchildren, Paige, Ronie Kay, Rolly, Sophia, Caden, Jonny, and Jude; significant other, Wendy Swieringa-Gibson, Horace; step-daughter, Allison Gibson, Horace; brothers, Duane Loffelmacher, Hannibal, MO, and John (Delores) Loffelmacher, Grace City, ND; sisters, Shirley Dreher, Carrington, ND, Peggy Loeffelmacher, Reno, NV, Alice (Jim) Loffelmacher-Moen, Minneapolis, MN, and Joan (Ray) Fasano, North Scituate, RI; second daughter, Kimberly (Wolters) Munson, Lakeville, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Art and Peter; and sisters, Vera, Audrey, and Mary.
A Visitation for Rodney will be one hour prior to his funeral service.
His Funeral Service will be Friday, September 8, 2017, at 10:30 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM, in Grace City Cemetery, Grace City, ND, with a lunch following at the Grace City Café.
