Rodney White

August 5, 1946 — November 10, 2006

Rodney Lee White of Moorhead, MN, the bravest man we've ever known, became weary of his labors and was granted eternal rest.
Rod, also known as "Whitey" to his friends, died at his home on Friday, November 10, 2006, under the loving care of his wife and the devoted and caring staff of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Rod was born on August 5, 1946, to Rod was born on August 5, 1946, to Leonard and Bernice (Tufton) White in Fargo, ND. Except for a few childhood years, he spent his entire life living in Moorhead, where he met Sheryl. They were sweethearts at the age of 13, and while still in high school, they were married on March 8, 1963. (Some things are meant to be!)
After high school graduation, Rod followed in his father's footsteps in the plumbing and pipefitting trade. He was a member of the Fargo Local Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union for 41 years and was proud to have been a "union man."
Rod and Sheryl were foster parents for a number of years. He LOVED babies and was regularly found sitting in his recliner with a baby and a baby bottle while watching a football game or listening to his music. He also loved music and was quite a music trivia expert. He had a great appreciation of music and art of any kind.
Rod is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Sheryl; one son, Shane (Tera Krabbenhoft) White, Moorhead; two daughters, Corrinne White, Moorhead, and Carmen (Brian) Erickson, Sioux Falls, SD; eight grandchildren, Lance White, twins Emma and Ray White, a
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard White, and his brother-in-law, Bruce Folden.
Rod was a very private man who wanted simple things. His life was hard work and family love. He was a very unselfish man.
His wishes were to be cremated and to have "just a little memorial service," which will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at 3 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
