Roger A. Bjorklund, 67, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Fargo VA Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Roger Allen Bjorklund was born December 20, 1943, to Carl and Minnie (Holecek) Bjorklund in Breckenridge, MN. He graduated from Breckenridge High School and Minnesota State University, Moorhead.
In 1966, Roger enlisted in the Marine Corp. and served in Vietnam. Upon his discharge in 1968, he returned to Moorhead. On June 1, 1968, Roger married Catherine Palubicki in Perham, MN. They made their home in Moorhead where Roger worked for Prudential Insurance, Red Wing Shoes, and various other retail businesses.
Roger was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Moorhead American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed fishing, spending time at the lake, and was a soccer coach for FM soccer when his kids were young.
Roger is survived by his wife, Cathy; four children, Christine Homuth, Mark (Tasha) Bjorklund, James Bjorklund (fiancée, Heather), and Greg (Cassidy) Bjorklund; thirteen grandchildren; three step grandchildren; brother, Ken (Dorothy) Bjorklund; sister, Ruth (Lawrence) Poppel; and special friends, the Pinto family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
