Roger B. Tellinghuisen, age 68, of Fargo, ND, died on Friday, April 9, 2004 in a hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Roger Bernerd Tellinghuisen, the son of Tilman and Norma (Bowitz).
Tellinghuisen, was born February 29, 1936, at Bowden, ND, where he grew up and received his education. As a young man, Roger lived in Fargo, ND, for three years.
In 1955, Roger entered the US Marine Corps. He served in the US and overseas in Japan. He was discharged in 1959. While in the Marines, Roger married Nancy Larson. After his discharge, they made their home in Fargo.
Roger worked at Mitchell's TV and Appliance in Fargo, and part time for Red Owl store. In 1970, Roger purchased Mitchell's TV and Appliance, which he operated until the early 1990's when he sold the store to Darrell Heflin.
On April 5, 1980, Roger married Clara Grove Simonson. They made their home in Fargo. After selling Mitchell's, they traveled extensively and operated an antique business, which took them to antique shows around the country. They where currently coming home from Florida, where they had participated in an antique show in Jacksonville, when Roger took ill.
Roger is survived by his wife, Clara, Fargo; a son Michael (Deb) Tellinghuisen, Horace, ND, and their children, Katy and Lisa; three stepchildren, Michael (Susan) Simonson, Fargo, and their children, Sarah Ogren, Ellie and Rose Simonson, Rita Simonson, Fargo, and her daughter, Nikki, and Lori Schmidt, Green Bay, WI, and her children, Jessy, Danny, and Emmy; his mother, Norma Tellinghuisen, Tacoma, WA; a sister, Barbara Mueller, Tacoma; a brother, Jack (Barbara) Tellinghuisen, Marco Island, FL; and two great-stepgrandchildren, Brandon Ogren and Destiny Simonson.
Visitation: Tuesday, 4 PM to 7 PM
