Roland Ferris

Roland W. Ferris, 88, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Sabin, MN, passed into eternity on April 11, 2016, in Ecumen Evergreens, Moorhead.

Roland William Ferris was born November 8, 1927, to William and Florence (Singer) Ferris, in Fargo, ND. He lived in Sabin and on the family farm near Sabin. He attended school in Sabin and in Moorhead.

On May 9, 1953, Roland married Goldie Glawe in Sabin, where they lived on the family farm. In
2007, they moved to Moorhead. Goldie passed away in 2015. He had been a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Sabin, for many years.

In addition to farming, Roland worked for S & S Construction and Northern Improvement Construction, in concrete work. He enjoyed driving around Fargo-Moorhead and showing off the curbs and streets he worked on!

Roland enjoyed family gatherings and watching football and baseball, especially the MN Twins. He also liked watching good music programs and westerns on TV. He and Goldie would often just "go for a drive around the lakes."

Roland is survived by his daughters, Linda (Curt) Lammers, Sabin, Jan Ferris, Fargo, Debbie (Jim) Blore, Farmington, MN, and Teresa (Mark) McDonald, Dillon, CO; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah Ferris, Chelsey Lammers, Robert Kelsen, Ashley (Mark) Lammers Anderson, Brandon Blore, Abby McDonald, and Turner McDonald; five great-grandchildren, Brooke and Summer Ferris, Laila and Oliver Lammers, and Ariella Kelsen; a brother, Robert Ferris, LaMirada, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie; a daughter, Nancy; an infant son, Mark; his parents; and a sister, Kathleen McEvers.

Roland's family wishes to thank the staffs of River Pointe and Ecumen Evergreens, both Moorhead, as well as Hospice of the Red River Valley, for their care and support.

Visitation is Friday, 5 PM until 7 PM, with a sharing of memories at 7, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral service is Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 11 AM, also in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
