Roland Stenerson

Roland Stenerson, 92, Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Roland Irving Stenerson, the son of Ingemund and Relma (Sorenson) Stenerson, was born December 20, 1923, in Felton, MN. He grew up and received his education in Felton, where he excelled in a number of sports. During WW II, Roland served his country in the US Navy.
After his discharge in 1946, he came to Moorhead, where he attended and graduated from Concordia College. While at Concordia, he played football for four years. After a short time in business, he became a secondary school teacher. He taught schools in Nevada, Idaho, and California.

In retirement, Roland returned to Moorhead, where he continued to enjoy sports, especially football, enjoyed classical jazz and "big band" music, and traveled throughout the USA and Canada. He had served as an assistant manager at the senior living complex where he lived.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leland. He is survived by a number of cousins.

Funeral service for Roland is Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at 11 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
