Rolfe Rudd

Rolfe O. Rudd, 68, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died June 19, 2018, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Fargo.

Rolfe Owen Rudd was born January 16, 1950, the son of Lloyd and Della (Ness) Rudd, in Chicago, IL. In 1954, he moved with his family to Moorhead, MN, where he graduated from Moorhead High School in 1968. Upon graduation, Rolfe attended Moorhead State Technical College for carpentry, before joining the Navy in 1971. During his three years in the Navy, he served on the U.S.S. Providence and U.S.S. JFK.

After his discharge from the service, Rolfe returned to Moorhead where he worked for Silverline in Moorhead and then Steiger Tractor in Fargo. He later moved to Pelican Rapids where he worked at West Central Turkey Plant for the last 30 years.

Rolfe was a member of the Pelican Rapids VFW Post 5252, where he served on the Military Honors Drill Team. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and loved the Minnesota Twins. One of his great joys was joining his friends at the Pelican Rapids Pool Hall in the mornings for coffee and a game of pool.

He is survived by his sister, Linda (John) Schultz, Moorhead; nephew, Todd Schultz, St. Joseph, MI; and cousins, Jeff Ness, St. Louis, MO, Brian Ness, Maplewood, MN, Daniel (LaRayne) Ness, Prescott Valley, AZ, Glenys (Jim) Rudd-Zweifel, Land O Lakes, FL, and Marsha Rudd-Parks, Clearwater, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bruce.

Rolfe's Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM, in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.

A Life Celebration Gathering will be held on Saturday. July 7, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the VFW Post #5252 in Pelican Rapids, MN.

Burial will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Wolverton, MN.
