Ronald E. Winter, age 65, Dilworth, MN, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.
Ronald Winter was born in Fargo, on July 20, 1945, the son of Elmer and Lucille (Bruggeman) Winter. He graduated from high school in Dilworth, and entered the US Marine Corps in 1965. He completed two tours of duty in Vietnam, before being honorably discharged in 1968.
Ron began his career in road construction, operating heavy equipment. Due to health, he retired at the early age of fifty.
Ron was united in marriage to Karen Larson of Moorhead, MN, on December 31, 1975, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth. They made their home in Dilworth, raising two sons, Joe and David.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Gil Larson; and a sister-in-law, Wendy (Tom) Winter. He is survived by his wife, Karen, Dilworth; sons, Joe and David "Pugs" and granddaughter, Maya, all Dilworth; sisters, Karen (Trinidad) Suniga,
Visitation: Monday, 4 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead
Funeral service: Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 11 AM, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth
