Ronald W. Lemke

Ronald Lemke, 66, Dilworth, MN, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Ronald Walter Lemke was born to Walter and Elizabeth (Anderson) Lemke on October 4, 1952, in Fergus Falls, MN. Ron was raised in Fergus Falls, and graduated from high school there. He started working for BNSF a few years after graduating and continued working there for 28 and a half years until retiring in 2002.

Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, his cats, watching Jeopardy, and playing cards and other games with his friends. He would go uptown in Dilworth every day to spend time with others and was known for his exceptional ability playing pool.

All these things were important to Ron but, what he treasured most in life was his family and friends. Ron was humble, not judgmental, and always there for those around him.

It was Ron and his family's wish that his corneas be donated to the Lions Gift of Sight program, with hope that others might see.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Myrna; children, Tricia (Tim) Welch, Bemidji, MN and Marissa (Dan Olson) Lemke, Bemidji; stepchildren, Tonia (Mark) Carlson, Wahpeton, ND, and Travis (Kristina) Dick, Englevale, ND; grandchildren, Christopher (Julia) Welch, Kyra Welch, Abby Welch, Jessa Lemke, Raiden Lemke, and Kasen Olson; step-grandchildren, Bailey Green, Skyler Carlson, and Amber Dick; and great-grandchild, Nathan Johnson; and a sister, Julie (Scott) Porter, Horace, ND. Ron was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Richard Lemke; and close friends, Myron Dewey and Marian Mills.

Visitation will be from 1-2 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM, Monday, July 22, 2019, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
