Rose Eberhardt, 81, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. While at home, she was lovingly cared for by her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Rose was born on a farm near Georgetown, MN, on March 18, 1928. She was one of ten children born to George and Mary (Wambach) Dalen. Rose graduated from Hendrum (MN) High School.

On June 4, 1949, Rose married Nelmer Eberhardt. They resided in Moorhead since 1954.
Rose did daycare in her home when her children were young. After her children were grown, she went to work for the Moorhead School Food Service. She looked forward to school starting each fall and enjoyed seeing the kid's everyday. Rose retired in 2002 after twenty-five years of service.

Rose will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her gentle, sweet spirit. She was a caring and giving person. She took great pride in the upkeep of her home and was also a great cook. Everyone enjoyed her baking skills. Rose also liked spending time outdoors in the summer.

Rose had a gift of gab and could talk to anyone. Her grandchildren loved to listen to stories of her life on the farm.

She is survived by her husband, Nelmer; three children, Sue (Warren) Boyd, Bismarck, ND. Dave (Sue) Eberhardt, Isanti, MN, and Keith Eberhardt, Fargo, ND; a daughter-in-law, Dr. Yvonne Gomez, Grand Forks, ND; four sisters, Georgia (Merle) Taylor, Jean Boo
Rose was preceded in death by her son, Bruce; sisters, Elsie Jacobson, Irene Nickerson, and Virginia Brainerd; a brother, George Dalen; and her parents.


Visitation: Sunday from 5 - 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead with the Funeral Mass on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11 AM in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.


Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
