Rose Kopperud

Rose M. Kopperud, 85, of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully Monday, August 21, 2017, during the solar eclipse, in her daughter's home in Borup, MN.

Rose Marie Thompson was born August 17, 1932, in Nome, ND, where she was raised. She lived there until she moved to Fargo, ND, as a teenager.

On October 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to Evert Kopperud. They made their home on a farm in rural Moorhead where they farmed and raised four children. Rose and Evert also worked side by side at Hornbachers until their retirement. Evert passed away in 1993 and Rose continued to live on the farm. In 2010, due to declining health, she moved to her daughter, Rozanne's, home near Borup, MN.

Rose enjoyed working in her flower gardens, collecting unique rocks and minerals, and attending church.

She is survived by her children, Burnell Kopperud, Moorhead, James (Roxanne) Kopperud, Ulen, MN, Mary Kopperud, Dilworth, MN, and Rozanne (Steve) Gee, Borup; eleven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evert; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kopperud; and parents, Ardmore and Octavia Thompson.


A Visitation for Rose will be one hour prior to her funeral service.

Her Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 1 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
