Rose M. Gytri, age 84, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, September 10, 2010, in Bethany Retirement Living on 42nd in Fargo, under the loving care of the Bethany staff and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Rose Margaret Tabor, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Johnson) Tabor, was born July 15, 1926, on the family farm near Shoreham, in Becker County, MN. She attended school in Detroit Lakes, MN, and then graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing, Fargo, in 1947.
On March 1, 1953, Rose married D. Lloyd Gytri. They lived and farmed near Averill, MN. She worked many years seasonally at Cargill in the sunflower division as a research assistant.
After Lloyd died in 1992, Rose moved to Fargo. For the last seven years of her life she resided with her daughter, Kaye and family. She was known and loved by many as "Grandma Rose."
Rose is survived by her children, Kaye (Dennis) Nelson, Fargo, Kurt (Jan) Gytri, Northfield, MN, Susan (Wade) Allen, Milton, FL, and John (Luanne) Gytri, Pflugerville, TX; grandchildren, Sarah Nelson, Hannah and Andrew Gytri, Laura Rose and Peter Allen, a
